Victorian Hanging Lamp
This handsome lamp at Grey’s Court in Oxfordshire was originally made as a gas light, but at a later date was converted to electric light and the original glazing was removed to make way for plastic.

The conversion work included replacing the plastic with P1 ‘drawn glass’, which closely resembles early drawn glass, and removing all intrusive later materials. The scroll work was conserved, but most of the body of the lamp was recreated as an exact copy, using the existing metalwork as templates.
