Restoration: ‘Trophy Gates’, Hampton Court Palace.
These bespoke hand-forged flowers were commissioned for part of the restoration of the ‘Trophy Gates’ at the west elevation of the Hampton Court Historic Royal Palaces.
Broken and missing parts of the famous c.1700 gate had to be replaced authentically, and so the flowers illustrated here had to be threaded and fixed into position exactly as the originals were done over 300 years ago.
